antibiotic ointment and aspirin, but should also contain special items
for the desert like tweezers, for pulling out cactus spines. See “Staging”
for a free list of what should be in your first aid kit! Knowledge: ·
Everyone 12 years or
older should know how to give Cardio-pulmonary resucitation, or CPR. ·
Everyone should become
familiar with basic first aid techniques.
There are countless books and websites on the subject. ·
One of the most important first aid facts to know in the desert
is that you NEVER give a hypothermia or shock victim liquids. Other first aid techniques are specific to
the desert, such as snakebite and scorpion sting treatments. |
