Mining

Always respect the private property and mining rights of mine owners.  You can get into some serious legal trouble for trespassing and/or taking ore in some of these places, not to mention the fact that most miners own rifles or shotguns!

• Check with the BLM on the procedure for staking a mining claim on US land. They will give you all the information you need to stake your claim.
• Each state has different laws that apply to State-owned lands.
